The Luxury Apartment with a Stunning Skyline View
Nothing beats a luxury hotel for comfort. Read our full account HERE about spending a night az Anantara New York Palace Budapest Hotel.
Yet hotel rooms aren’t always your ideal choice.
Apartments don’t necessarily mean less comfort. A good case in point is NH Collection Budapest City Center, which I had recently tested.
Some basics about the NH City Center it is set in the heart of Budapest, right beside Blaha Lujza tér and the Anantara New York Palace, and located on number 2-8 Osvát utca.
Parking is available in the Anantara garage.
Not only are we provided our basic hotel services (including hair dryer, minibar, free toiletries) but also a fully equipped kitchen corner, coffee machine and microwave.
Along with the comforts of the apartment, we also get free access to the fitness room.
I tried a dupley like that, and as soon as I stepped in, it made a spacious and friendly impression on me: and I hadn’t even gone upstairs yet.

On the ground floor there’s a bathroom beside the kitchen, and the bathroom has its own washing machine. (We get full access to the laundry service regardless.)
From the ground-floor living room, there’s a glass-walled stairwell leading up. On the upstairs level there’s a pair of rooms and two showers.
Though I could spot the terrace beyond the enormous glass living room wall, it came as a surprise that there was another walk-out balcony upstairs, toward the same panorama.
These are the things you really can’t put a price tag on, let alone fully describe.
Poking out from among the rooftops we see the steeples of Saint Elisabeth’s, and BalloonFly’s hot-air balloon over Városliget Park. Sunsets glow orange and purple, a sight well worthy of celebrating with a glass of fine wine or champagne. All things considered, we might as well take any meal out with us to the terrace.

It makes absolute sense for a family to opt for this type of accommodation over a room or suite at the neighboring hotel, though in fact I easily found an advantage for myself too.
The place is surely big enough, and there’s no worrying about thin walls or privacy.
On top of that, it’s not only Anantara Hotel that doesn’t turn you out of your room in the morning. Check-out is until noon, and may even be extended till late by request. So we’ve got all the time we need to make a relaxed start, and go through that unhurried morning meal at the hotel breakfast room.
Their lavish breakfast spread is well worth the extra charge, but in case you’re looking for something even more exclusive there’s always a way.

The Café had just now been listed on Taste Atlas among the World’s Best Dessert Places, weighing in at 32nd place on the global listing. You don’t want to miss this!
There’s a direct passage into the Anantara New York Palace, so it’s no big deal getting lunch, cocktails or dinner there. You can even get a Wellness pass there, and just walk across the hallway in your bathrobe to chill out.

Craving a salad, pastry or glass of wine at the break of dawn is not an issue, they’re delivered first-class; but even their most exclusive dishes are all available á la caste from 7 A.M. to 11 P.M.
Spaghetti with seasonal forest mushrooms and Eszterházy cake were my order of the day, delicious!
Reservations can be made through various platforms, or directly on the NH Hotels webpage.
In fact we get customer points from day one, if we choose to participate in the loyalty program (which is free of charge and no strings attached).
Later on we can cash in those points in Budapest, Vienna, Munich, Rome, and beyond.
